Our Story
“The Old Vicarage is our quietly proud, female-founded space - shaped by the two of us, a mother and daughter with a shared eye for beauty and meaning. What began as a personal restoration became something much more: a place where stories begin, thoughtfully held and gently brought to life.”
– Chelsea + Suzie
The Old Vicarage was once a home filled with love and laughter, and that warm heart still guides everything we do here.
The house began its humble life as the vicarage to the neighbouring Holy Trinity Church in 1847, later becoming a retirement and respite home, offering care and comfort to many within the local community. After closing its doors in 1999, the building slowly fell into disrepair. Our family saw its beauty and potential in 2005, and with a deep reverence for its history, Suzie bought the house at auction.
Honoured by the responsibility, we embarked on a considered renovation to bring the Victorian country house back to life – our aim to preserve its character while allowing it space to evolve and breathe. Today, the house remains family-owned and lovingly run by a mother-daughter duo. The Old Vicarage is not only a place of celebration, but a home with a story – and we’re proud to carry it forward for generations to come.
