The Old Vicarage can be found nestled in Southwell: a quaint market town with independent local shops and a variety of accommodation options. Our location is accessible from anywhere in the country, located just 30 minutes from Nottingham, and a little over an hour by train from London.
We believe that the spot where you tie the knot should be chosen by you – which is exactly why we offer our couples flexibility to choose their own setting. The Old Vicarage has four licensed ceremony locations, both indoors and outdoors.
With eight en-suite hotel bedrooms, you have exclusive use of our beautiful home from 10am on your wedding day until 11am the following morning. There is no rush, no hurry, and nowhere else to be.
We can also offer exclusive use of the house the night before your wedding. Join us from 3pm the day before, and ease into the celebrations with a glass of sparkling wine and the serenity of the house all to yourself.

Ready to commit? You’ll then book your dates and pay your deposit, and we’ll schedule in three key meetings with you (but you can book in as many meetings as you’d like!).
In our initial meeting, we’ll paint the picture of your wedding aesthetic and goals, diving into your ideas, sharing inspiration and discussing potential suppliers.
During our second conversation, we’ll talk through your chosen catering partner, refining timings and the finer details so everything flows seamlessly on the day. We’ll also be on hand to support communication between you, us, and the catering team throughout the process.

The Old Vicarage is thoughtfully designed for intimate celebrations. We can accommodate up to 70 guests for your ceremony and wedding breakfast, and up to 90 guests for your evening reception. The Old Vicarage has eight en-suite bedrooms, accommodating up to 16 adults and 4 children as overnight guests. Each room is individually designed, and a beautifully prepared breakfast is served the following morning.
Always. We host one wedding at a time, with no overlap or shared spaces. From the moment you arrive, the house and gardens are entirely yours. We intentionally limit the number of weddings we host each year so every couple receives our full attention, care and presence.
Venue hire for weddings starts from £9500. Every celebration here is bespoke, and overall investment will vary depending on your guest numbers, external catering choices and any additional touches. We are transparent about pricing from your first enquiry, so you can make confident, informed decisions without unexpected surprises.
Standard hire includes access from 10am on your wedding day until 11am the following morning, allowing you to settle in, celebrate fully and enjoy a relaxed breakfast together the next day. You may also choose to add exclusive use the night before from 3pm, creating space for a rehearsal dinner or quiet time with your closest people, or hire the venue out for the full weekend.
We are licensed for civil ceremonies in four different locations, both indoors and outdoors. We also have some beautiful local churches close by, too. Once you have secured your wedding date and if you would like to have your civil ceremony at The Old Vicarage, you will need to contact our local registrars, Nottinghamshire County Council on 0335008080, to book your ceremony.
We work exclusively with exceptional catering partners who know the house intimately and share our standards for quality and presentation. This ensures your dining experience feels seamless and beautifully executed. You will work directly with your chosen caterer to curate a menu that reflects your tastes.
